I'm applying for Doctor's without Borders, but in the chance that I do not get accepted, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a similar secular, humanitarian-aid, non-governmental organization that employs social workers ("mental health specialists").
I'm looking for a 9 month commitment or so (could be shorter, but I'll commit for that long).
Thanks in advanced!

Re: International social work
Sat, November 24, 2007 - 8:40 AMLizette,
I too have been searching for social work/pyschology work overseas. I haven't had much luck myself. You can look on the Red Cross website. They have quite a bit there, as well as the UN and WHO. Good Luck. Let me know how you do.

Thu, March 6, 2008 - 1:56 PMIt's been a while since the original post, but Action Against Hunger is great. I know someone who worked for them, and it sounds similar to MSF. I would work with them if I had the skills!
