Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could make some money in Spain in order to stay there for at least a year. I've tried the Au Pair thing in France and I'm not about to do that again. I speak fluent French and a little Spanish but not really enough to carry on much of a conversation. I was hoping to be able to go to Spain (I like Granada) to learn Flamenco and Spanish. I can't really think of any jobs besides teaching English that I could do without being fluent in Spanish. I know some people are much more resourceful than I am when it comes to these sorts of things. I've thought about just going without any plans on how I could afford to stay although it is against my better judgement. There's no real way for me to save a significant amount of money though because I either have to keep going to school or pay my student loan. I know it can be done because I've met people on my travels that seem to make due with nothing while travelling the world. I know the cheesy saying 'where there's a will there's a way' and I've got the 'will,' I'm just looking for the 'way.'

Re: Working in Spain
Mon, April 3, 2006 - 10:07 AMOnce in Portugal I worked in a little fruit and vegetable store and in exchange for the young owner teaching me portuguese I helped her with french and english in preparation for the tourist season.
The deal worked because it was not e tourist season and she was in no big hurry.
Wages weren't great and were partly fruits and veggies, but was able to stay in that village for a while.
If you are in a Barcelona couldn't you fiond a job as tourist guide?
