I'm in my 50's and want to leave the states--I played the game here--Work long hard and make my wealthy employer rich but am looking at less than a poverty life in US. I have a BA from Purdue University--but that has not helped me in the job market in US(too old) Don't laugh! Any suggestion about getting work and where is a good place for me to go --work-- live-and start new. I have approx. $300 per mo to live on -- better if I continue on the path of my past work years I'll have $333 more per month to live on if I can wait till I'm 72 to retire(yes SS)Appreciate your input/info.

Well I just want to warn you that the job market in Oz is sadly pretty agist.... so you will need to do quite a bit of research I think.....

What have you been doing up until now?

Geta, you did an excellent job of finding us here on Tribe, so make sure you have a decent resume posted on Yahoo! Hot Jobs and Monster.com (with clearly stated intents) and maybe some company will find you there!

I bet you have a lot to offer and are just not making the right connections. If you need help with "crafting" a resume I would be happy to take a shot at it. You deserve a break today!

      Good luck!

I don't know if you're interested in teaching English but with a degree you could get a job easily in korea, taiwan, china or even some s.american coutries i hear. In korea you can earn around $2000 per month if you can live in a small appartment and be happy with it. the job is quite good and you get a $2000 bonus at the end of each working year.
You can look on daves cafe www.eslcafe.com for available jobs. Why not save up some $$ here then buy a hut in thailand on the beach and live happily ever after! sounds good to me. good luck whatever you do (oh, I meant to say there is a big community of 50+ people here, it's not all just young folks).Suzy
