lots of people get their certification and a year or so teaching in asian countries, so that they can go teach in europe... most people i talk to who intend to keep teaching but want to go elsewhere, have prague in mind as an eventual destination.

am guessing this is mostly because you often don't need any certification or experience to teach in many asian countries, whereas it appears many of the western countries do require it...

nothing wrong with doing it the other way around tho! :)

i do agree here i dont know the exat no of countries asking for a certificate but if you have your basic credentials along with you your job is done and mind you as being the largest outsoursing industry(india), i mean call centres most assent trainers for english tend to be of india allthough you will find some americans but very few europeans

just go straight to china. there are so many teaching jobs available. i taught english there last summer and all i had to do was prove i can speak english and be over the age of 18. go to beijing- look in the english writing paper and look in the classifieds. most job openings are going to be for private tutors or teachers. or go through the maryknolls and they pay for your living expenses and food and pay you. dont waste your money taking teaching lessons when you dont have to. though it would be fun to go to prauge!

if you need any advice on where to live and how to get around china let me know.
