Animal Healing in New Zealand

A little bird told me that Animal Acupressure Massage and healing work is pretty popular in Australia and New Zealand. Is this true? I will soon be trained in Animal Acupressure and my compass is pointing me toward New Zealand. It will be exponentially simpler to gain residency if I can find a position utilizing my animal experience and soon-to-be-earned certification. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have also searched the U.S. for a place to call home that is harmonious with my beliefs, values and dreams. I have become increasingly discouraged. The more I search, the more I realize that I like the idea of creating the life of my dreams elsewhere and leaving this mess behind! I am seeking lifestyle and harmony, not money. If the basics are taken care of and my fiance and I are relatively comfortable, that is all I need. We have only 1 cat and no children. We are both starting out own business so are able to be self-employed.

I looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hey Kat,

I'm no expert on immigration (or Animal Accupressure), but I know that it's harder to gain residency status in New Zealand than one might think...and the laws will soon be even stricter. This is both a blessing and a curse--it keeps beautiful Aotearoa from getting too crowded, but it also makes it difficult for eager travellers to visit! The best thing to do is to check the NZ immigration website (if you haven't already). There are several ways to live and work in NZ, depending on how long you want to stay. I'm currently here on a student visa, since I'm attending a NZ university. I completely understand your discouragement with the USA and your desire to venture away. I think you'll find what you're looking for in New Zealand. It's not perfect here, but it's far more "sane" than a lot of other countries, and people seem to have a sense of respect and concern for the environment (and animals) that is quite remarkable.
    Good luck!

Thanks, Alex. Yes, my fiance and I have already done quite a bit of research. Every piece of new information/input is helpful to us in our efforts to gain residency, however we may be able to do this. I have also considered attending school there so I may look into this a little more. Thanks, again for your advice and insight!
